Fruitridge Pheasant Farm

Come hunt "The Ridge” where beautiful hard flying pheasants roam between two distinct habitats that make up the Fruitridge Pheasant Farm. Located just 10 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, you can choose between "Creek Bottom" and "Old Orchard".

For a true wild bird hunting experience try the “Creek Bottom”, which is not only a challenge because of Indian Mill Creek cutting through the farm, but the rolling hills that rise above with it's varying terrain. Besides the cover you'd expect to find along a "Creek Bottom", the rolling hills are planted with alfalfa, sorghum, corn, switch grasses and along with several swales there is even a small apple orchard. Excellent field for smaller groups or more experienced larger groups who are looking a challenge in a truly unique setting. Your dogs should be very experience and be in good physical condition. “Old Orchard” can be quite a challenge to hunt. Over half of the 160 acres were abandoned apple orchards. What remains is a very large area of native grasses with a few remaining apple trees and a small pond. The remaining acreage is alfalfa, sorghum, corn and switch grasses. You’ll find hunting birds in this heavy cover tough, some consider it too heavy early season and wait until late season to hunt. Excellent field for larger groups, besides the pond there is a campfire area both with benches and gun racks which are great resting areas. We offer half day field hunts as well as European hunts.

Fruitridge Pheasant Farm is a game bird hunting preserve which is licensed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and is open to the public by reservation only.
